Abe is presented here — outstanding, rare and candid photographs that show the artists on and off stage in America, Japan and other countries over a period of nearly 50 years.

Portrait Frame — For each of the 50 Artist chapters in Jazz Connections, we have chosen a K. Abe photograph as a portrait. These are accompanied by a brief comment by Abe-san himself, whose personal "connections" with the artists offer insights into their personalities and the friendships they established.
Biography Frame — As a backdrop for the "connections" among our 50 artists, extensive research went into compiling a detailed database of their careers.
